The Importance of Trust -

By now you have probably heard the story of my daughter's wedding this summer. It was a beautiful and  touching event and one that made me very proud of my daughter.

I realize that any Dad worth a damn is going to be proud - seeing that his baby girl has grow up to be a beautiful young woman.

However, I get to be extra proud, because I got to watch my daughter handle a situation that could have turned her wedding  into a disaster.

The minister didn't show up for the ceremony and no one realized it until it was time for me to walk her down the aisle.

Yep, the guests are seated, the music is playing and the wedding planner suddenly walks up and tells my daughter that the minister is a no-show.

Talk about a worst case scenario - can you imagine!

After only a moment's pause, my totally-awesome, totally-together daughter rose to the occasion, simply saying, "Well, I knew something was going to go wrong, now at least I know what it is so I can deal with it."

And deal with it she did.

The first thing we did was open up the bar to keep the guests from getting restless.

Then, while friends and family were out in the garden getting liquored up and wondering WTF happens next, the bride put one of her long time friends on the spot.

Her friend, Kyra, had actually done a couple of weddings  back east, but wasn't legal to perform a marriage in Oregon.

Close enough.

The two of them worked out some vows, rounded up the now staggering guests, and Kyra winged it, beautifully.

Everyone was delighted, nothing was legal, the bar was reopened and the rest of the afternoon was a blast.

After the honeymoon, the newlyweds  went down to the courthouse and made it all legal, but you can imagine that the courthouse ceremony is not the one they will be telling their grandkids about.

So, what does this have to do with trust? Everything.

We all trusted that the minister would be there for us.

He wasn't (he wrote the wrong day down in his calendar) and it could have ruined a young couple's most important day together.

And, of course, there is that awesome, incredible, trust that leads two people to exchange marriage vows.

On another level, I am here asking you to trust me - to trust that when you purchase a product from me, I will hold up my end of the bargain and give you the value that I promise.

And that I will promptly handle any problems that might come up during our interaction.

In order to earn that trust, I have decided to make as much information, and as many goodies as I possibly can available to you for free or at a minimal cost.

Help me continue the celebration of trust as long as I can, and remember - I reserve the right to change or discontinue any of these offers at any time.

thanks so much,

Phil
